Directing, 2D Animation // Meaning of Baju Melayu

PulseOn is a channel created to dissect cultural trends, insights and current news in small bite-sized content.

The first episode for PulseOn touched upon the meaning of Baju Melayu. A traditional clothing that is worn by Malay man in Malaysia especially during the festive season, Aidilfitr, and for formal functions. We collaborated with an online fashion company, Zalora in order for us to see the current styles as well as being able to compare the traditional intended purpose of the clothing.

It was a rewarding project as we wanted to show the audience what we have learned in an engaging and exciting way. It was this project we realised that there is demand for content that is both entertaining and informative by knowing our intended market audience.

FACEBOOK RESULTS

With a budget of RM20.00 (USD 4$) to boost the video on Facebook, we managed to get results that is beyond our expectation.

We had over 20,000 shares within few months, as well more than 400,000 organic unique viewers.

With videos and contents that are being bombarded in social media every minute, we realised that to cut through the noise captions, knowing our target audience, using the right tone in our language became the key to the success of this video.
